FanDuel NBA Value Plays: Wednesday (11/22)

Happy Thanksgiving! There are 14 games on the FanDuel main slate tonight so there are plenty of options and ways to construct your roster.

Brooklyn-Cleveland game has a 230-point total and the Houston-Denver game has a projected total of 228.5. The lowest scoring games are Chicago-Utah and Dallas-Memphis with both having projected totals of 195.

There are 15 players priced at $9,000 or more. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Lebron, James Harden, and Boogie Cousins are the highest priced players – all above 11K. You will need to free up some salary if you are going to fit one or two of the high-priced players into your lineup tonight.

Here are 10 plays that are worth considering as you set your lineup for tonight’s slate of games. Remember to check the news and injury reports, especially in the 30 minutes prior to lock. Use all the information available to you to make the best decision possible for your lineup. Good luck and have fun!

Point Guard

Mike James (PHO): $4,800 vs. MIL

He was playing a lot of minutes and producing and then he wasn’t. Such is life on a bad team. However, his minutes have gone back up for the last couple of games and he has started producing again with 26.1 and 24.2 FD points in the last two games. Milwaukee is not playing very good right now on the defensive end. This will be a high-scoring affair. You also have the narrative of Mike James and Eric Bledsoe going at each other trying to prove who is better.

Patty Mills (SAS): $4,400 at NOP

On the season he is averaging 19.5 FD points. He is typically a pretty safe pick (16.1 has been his floor in the last 10 games) but he has also shown some upside that can help you in GPPs. In his last four games, he has had games of 38.1 and 39.6. The Pelicans are 22nd in DVOA so Mills should not have much difficulty doing what he needs to do.

Shooting Guard

Wesley Matthews (DAL): $5,100 at MEM

He is on a tear in the last two games with 39.7 and 41.4 FD points against Boston and Milwaukee, respectively. Overall, he has averaged 28.2 FD points in his last seven games. This is projected to be a low-scoring affair but if your M.O. is to ride the hot hand then Matthews definitely has some momentum.

Troy Daniels (PHO): $3,400 vs. MIL

If you need a punt play then Daniels is a consideration. He has averaged 21 FD points in the last three games. His minutes are not huge (19.3 MPG) during that time but he is producing in the time that he is getting. This will be a high-scoring game and he is getting a lot of usage.

Small Forward

Wesley Johnson (LAC): $4,600 at ATL

Johnson has earned 25.5, 25.8, and 50.4 FD points in the last three games. There is no guarantee that he continues to play well but for right now, he is a strong option for value. This road trip has been good for him so far.

CJ Miles (TOR): $4,000 at NYK

He has averaged 21.9 FD points in his last 5 games without Norman Powell. I am always on board with Miles’ potential to get hot in any game. I prefer his price in the 3K range but 4,000 is still an option. There is the possibility for Powell to return tonight but Miles will still see some opportunities as the shooter with the second unit. He earned 25.1 FD points against the Knicks last week.

Power Forward

Noah Vonleh (POR): $3,500 at PHI

It is not fun to start Vonleh but in his game Monday against Memphis, he went for 42.1 FD points with his 11 point, 18 rebound double-double performance. In the six games prior to his Monday explosion, he had averaged 16.4 FD points. I certainly don’t see another 40+ performance but he should be a good bet to reach value.

Kenneth Faried (DEN): $3,300 at HOU

He is not a safe pick but if he starts again for Millsaps (who has been ruled out already) then he can exceed value again. He had 20.4 FD points Monday night against Sacramento in place of Millsaps. The negative is that he only played 19 minutes. He tends to be a point-per-minute player but just doesn’t get the opportunity that he has in the past. This should be an up-tempo game with a 228.5 game total.

Alex Len (PHO): $5,000 vs MIL

He has gone over 40 FD points twice in the last six games. Overall, he is averaging 23.6 FD points on the year. Len has good scoring upside and with Milwaukee being a bad rebounding team, he is in line to collect a lot of boards. Milwaukee is 25th against opposing Centers.

Kosta Koufos (SAC): $3,800 vs. LAL

Koufos has been good in his last three games earning 32.8, 15.4, and 36.4 FD points. Now he gets the Lakers in a pace up game. There should be a lot of scoring in this game. The Lakers are the 24th-ranked team against opposing Centers.
